Lucero Gil,
Pre-Medicine
I'm a first-generation student who graduated from Lehman College with a B.S. in Biology. Currently, I am a post-bac student and will be taking a gap year or so to prepare myself for Medical School. The specialty I want to pursue is Pediatrics because I want to provide quality care within the minority community. I like to take pictures and go out to new areas I haven't been to in NYC.

Danielle Charles-Chauvet, Medical School
I was born and raised in New York City, but moved to Providence, RI to attend Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. I am currently in my third year and plan to pursue Emergency Medicine, as there are so many aspects of the specialty that intersect with my passion for promoting health equity. In my spare time, I enjoy binge watching Netflix, perusing Pinterest, doing DIY projects, and hiking. I'm excited to share my experience in the medical field with others to usher in a more diverse healthcare workforce.

Dr. Nneka O. Brooks,
Ophthalmologist
I was born in Lagos, Nigeria and later immigrated to the United States with my family, landing in New Jersey. I obtained my undergraduate degree from Princeton University and went on to get my medical degree from Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City and there I discovered a love for ophthalmology. I completed my residency training at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School and then a two-year vitreoretinal fellowship at the Lahey Clinic and Hospital in Burlington, Massachusetts. I've now been in private practice for 6 years in NYC/NJ. My main hobbies outside of work are travel, theater/dance, and tennis. However, I spend the bulk of my free time with my husband and three young children. I'm looking forward to sharing my experience and journey into Ophthalmology.
